Brome Lake Artists Launch Virtual Exhibition
Brome Lake, April 16, 2020 — The Town of Brome Lake applauds the initiative of a group of artists who have chosen the virtual path to exhibit their work during this period of confinement. The exhibition Libres comme l’art presents the creations of twelve local artists coming from the disciplines of painting, photography, ceramics and sculpture.
Over the past few weeks, many cultural institutions have decided to counter the prevailing gloom by making their works of art available to the general public through digital media screens.
“Libres comme l’art was born spontaneously out of a desire to offer our confined fellow citizens a little comfort through these works,” says the initiator of the exhibition, Michel Beaucage. “We wanted to open a window to the imagination, which has neither borders nor limits. Many museums have chosen to showcase their collections online, and that’s how the idea for our community was born in my mind.”
Each of the creations is in the spirit of the times, tinted with the particular period we are collectively going through. Here is the list of artists taking part in the initiative:
Rachel Grenon (Lumières intérieures)
Diane Laberge (On reste au nid)
Dominique Perron (Intérieur)
Isabelle Daval (Matins fleuris)
José Fillion (Passagère du chaos)
Nathalie Rivard (Vivre dangereusement)
Michel Gamache (Ça va bien aller)
Susan Pepler (Fairyland)
Jocelyne Tremblay (Tout passe)
Michel Beaucage (Bird in a tree)
Marie-Josée Gravel (Détrôné)
Muriel Faille (Écho d’un monde)
Starting today, the exhibition Libres comme l’art can be visited at tourismelacbrome.com.
