Brome Lake, October 1st, 2018 — Everything is in place in Brome Lake for the adoption of the action plan to conform to the certification Municipalité Amie des Aînés (MADA). This age-friendly approach makes it possible to invigorate the everyday routine of people aged 65 and over in a healthy and safe environment.
The result of the long work of a committee of volunteers, the future MADA policy of the Town of Brome Lake is made possible thanks to the contribution of the Ministère de la Famille.
While properly empowering the municipal administration through a three-year plan to allow seniors to thrive by ensuring that they remain in their environment for as long as possible.
“It is important to remember that in Brome Lake, nearly one third of the population is 65 years of age or older,” said Richard Burcombe, Mayor of Brome Lake. “We are now in a better position to support the prosperity of this important segment of our community, in line with one of the elements of our 2015–2020 strategic plan.”
The Town invites you on Thursday, October 4, from 5 to 7 pm, at the launching session of the MADA policy at Centre Lac-Brome.
