CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Town of Brome Lake is looking for an entrepreneur for the management and operation of the canteen at Douglass Beach. This agreement will have the duration of 1 year with the possibility of renewal for 2 additional years. The dealer can also manage and make the rental for (kayak and paddle boards).

Those wishing to submit their application are invited to send their proposal to the Town of Brome Lake, along with the required documents. An agreement concerning the management and operation of the canteen must be signed with the chosen dealer.

The Town does not undertake to accept either of the proposals received and incurs no obligation or costs of any kind towards the proposers. Rent for the season will be discussed with the dealer for the entirety of contract.

Description of location and equipment made available to the dealer

 Installation and localisation
The canteen concession is located at Douglass Beach in Lac-Brome at 213 Lakeside Road. On a grassed area, several picnic tables are set up by the Town. There is also a supervised bathing area, a volleyball court and a small boat launch area (kayak and paddle board). People arriving with their boats can use the launch area for free.

 Room size
The interior dimensions of the canteen concession are 17 feet long by 7 feet wide.

Town of Brome Lake’s requirements for the management of the canteen

The dealer will have to offer a restoration service with a varied menu (food, drinks, etc.). The provision of a boat rental service (kayaks and paddle boards) is optional.
The restaurant and rental service must be open at the following periods and at the following times;
   a. From Saint-Jean-Baptiste until Labor Day:
       i. Mondays to Fridays from 11 am to 2 pm,
       ii. Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm.
   b. During holidays and statutory holidays as well as during the 2 weeks of the construction employees’ leave:
       i. Every day from 11 am to 5 pm.
► The dealer must obtain all necessary permits and give a copy to the Town of Brome Lake
The dealer shall take out insurance in accordance with the Act respecting industrial accidents and occupational diseases for the protection of its employees only with a civil liability insurance of at least $ 2,000,000.00 in order to compensate the town in case of a claim as a result of accidents or damage.
The dealer is responsible for the maintenance of the leased premises and the maintenance of the equipment at his disposal. The canteen should be clean and hygienic, at the expense of the dealer. The laws and regulations of the Town of Brome Lake, the directives issued by the Food Inspection Service, the Fire Department, the insurers of the Town of Brome Lake, the building inspector, the MAPAQ, and all other officers of the Town of Brome Lake must be respected at all times.
The dealer must pick up the garbage daily outside the opening hours of the beach if the canteen is open.
The dealer must provide, at his own expense, the additional equipment he deems necessary for the operation of the canteen. Any new equipment must operate on electricity.
If hiring staff, the dealer must ensure that the latter behaves respectfully, polite to the public at all times and respects the terms hereof.
The sale of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.
