Notice – COVID-19
As a precautionary measure, and to counterbalance the many information out there, here is some useful information on COVID-19.
It is important to note that as of March 5, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for Canada. A risk assessment will be conducted as soon as new information becomes available.
The main symptoms
– Fever
– Cough
– Breathing difficulties
Symptoms may be mild (similar to a cold) or more severe (such as those associated with pneumonia and lung or kidney failure).
Preventive measures
Recognised hygiene measures are recommended for everyone:
– Wash your hands often with warm running water and soap for at least 20 seconds
– Use an alcohol-based disinfectant if soap and water are not available
Observe good hygiene when coughing or sneezing:
– Cover your mouth and nose with your arm to reduce the spread of germs
– If you use a tissue, dispose of it as soon as possible and wash your hands afterwards
