The Knowlton Medical Clinic Will Be Welcoming a New Doctor in the Coming Months
Brome Lake, March 9, 2021 — The Town of Brome Lake is thrilled to learn of the arrival of a new doctor to help the existing staff at the Victoria Street facility. According to provincial data, our community has the highest average age in all of Quebec.
“This is good news at this particular time,” said Brome Lake Mayor Richard Burcombe. “While it is positive for our community, it is important not to flood the access lines or the phone lines of the clinic trying to get an appointment with the new doctor, as there will be no waiting list created. The allocation of family doctors is coordinated with the province. The clinic’s staff is limited in number and is currently dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Individuals without a family doctor can register at the Québec Family Doctor Finder if they have not already done so (gamf.gouv.qc.ca). Those who already registered do not need to make any changes.
The Town of Brome Lake would like to acknowledge the two years of efforts and collaboration of the stakeholders who made this a reality. They are the clinic’s staff, the office of the MNA for Brome-Missisquoi Isabelle Charest, and the members of the MRC Brome-Missisquoi Health Committee.
