Town of Brome Lake is looking for an environmental technician dedicated to preserving our natural environment. Under the supervision of the Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for data acquisition and processing for various characterization projects. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with technical services, public works and land management.

Responsibilities
- Monitoring surface water quality by collecting water samples at various locations throughout the territory.
- Acquiring data on motorized navigation and implementing solutions to this issue. Participating in the enforcement of regulations on the control of invasive species (distribution of permits).
- Characterizing sites where beavers are present.
- Conducting various characterizations and inspections related to invasive exotic species, cyanobacteria, stormwater, and sediments.
- Supporting citizens in the renaturalization of riparian buffers and the design of rain gardens.
- Inspecting residential septic systems.
- Raising awareness among citizens and visitors about the environmental issues of the territory by proposing accessible solutions for all. Leading several information booths during the summer.
- Entering data and creating maps related to various projects.
- Working closely with municipal professionals and community stakeholders involved in water management and land conservation.
Qualifications
- Hold at minimum a technical diploma in bioecology or natural environment techniques, or an undergraduate degree in biology or ecology, or be in the process of completing your studies.
- Have knowledge in geomatics and be familiar with QGIS software.
