The Town of Brome Lake is seeking a dynamic person who is passionate about horticulture to join its Public Works team for the summer season of 2026. Under the supervision of the Chief of Public Works, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing green spaces throughout the municipal territory.

Responsibilities 

  • Carry out landscaping projects according to established plans and specifications
  • Plant vegetation (trees, shrubs, ornamental plants)
  • Perform watering, weeding and general maintenance of green spaces
  • Ensure the pruning of trees, shrubs and other plants in accordance with horticultural standards
  • Maintain the aesthetic and sanitary quality of municipal landscaping
  • Collaborate with the public works team on various related tasks
  • All other related tasks.

Qualifications 

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in horticulture
  • Relevant experience in horticulture and landscaping
  • Valid driver's license (Class 5)

Skills and Aptitudes 

  • Comfortable driving a full-size pickup truck 
  • Knowledge of planting, pruning and horticultural maintenance techniques 
  • Excellent physical condition 
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Resourcefulness and autonomy 
  • Courtesy and good team spirit

Work Schedule 

  • 40-hour work week, spread over 4.5 days 
  • Salary of $28.43 to $32.12 per hour according to the collective agreement in effect 
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment
