The Town of Brome Lake is seeking a Municipal Patrol Officer to ensure safety and order throughout its territory during the summer period. Under the supervision of the Director of Fire and Public Safety Department, the position holder carries out surveillance, prevention, and citizen assistance activities in various environments (land and water).
This position represents an excellent opportunity for students enrolled in police technology programs to put their learning into practice and develop their community intervention skills.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure presence and surveillance on foot, by bicycle, by vehicle, and by boat in locations designated by the supervisor
Ensure patrol and safety on the lake
Ensure patrol on trails and bike paths
Ensure traffic management
Conduct surveillance in the Town's public parking lots and issue violation notices
Respond to simple inquiries from citizens
Conduct surveillance and prevention activities during summer events
Perform all other related tasks
Position Requirements
Be 18 years of age as of March 31, 2026
Hold a valid Quebec driver's license as of March 31, 2026
Have Canadian citizenship
Have good conduct
Hold first aid certification is an important asset
Being currently a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year student in police techniques or having graduated from a police techniques program in Quebec is an asset
Have strong command of written and spoken French, and working knowledge of English
Have work experience or community involvement
Be available to work days, evenings, and weekends

Ability to work in a team and collaborate with different stakeholders

Work Schedule
Full-time position (35 hours/week)
Days, evenings, and weekends
Hourly wage:
$23.64 per hour for cadet candidates (students enrolled in police technology)
$21.99 per hour for other candidates
