Non-Domiciled Electors: register to exercise your right to vote in municipal elections

Are you the owner of an apartment building, co-owner of a cottage or second home, or tenant of commercial premises in the territory of Brome Lake?

You may be eligible to vote in the upcoming municipal elections.

To be eligible, you must be 18 years of age or older on election day and be a Canadian citizen on November 2, 2025. In addition, you must not have lost your right to vote due to guardianship or be deprived of your electoral rights on that date.

To exercise your right to vote, you must submit an application to be added to the municipal list of electors to the Town.

HOW TO APPLY

• If you are the sole owner of a building or the sole occupant of a business establishment, complete form SMRC-9.2.

• If you are a co-owner of a building or a co-occupant of a business establishment, designate one person from the group to be registered on the list and complete form SMRC-9.1.

*Remember that ALL co-owners must sign this form.

VOTING BY MAIL

In addition, the Town of Brome Lake allows you to vote by mail (for non-domiciled electors). To do so, you must complete the Request to Vote by Mail section on the back of form SMRC-9.1 or SMRC-9.2.

You must send the completed form to the following address: 122 Lakeside Road, Brome Lake (Quebec), J0E 1V0.

*For the application to be valid for the 2025 election, the municipality must receive it no later than the last day set for receiving registration applications from non-resident voters before the list of electors is filed, i.e., September 28, 2025. After this date, applications will be forwarded to the Revision Board.
